Screening of SUSANTA BISWAS documentary in EARTH DAY 2012 Celebretion

India Trees Foundation screened A SUSANTA BISWAS Documentary titled TOWARDS A GREEN FUTURE in their EARTH DAY, 2012 Celebrations. Susanta Biswas, a distinguished documentary maker is the Founder Secretary of Krishnaa Human Initiatives. 



The event was organized at Williamson Magor Hall, Bengal Chamber, 6 N.S.Road, Kolkata



The documentary is based on the success story of the Rupnarayan Forest Development Agency  at the Jungle Mahal in West Bengal. The Joint Forest Management Committees under the agency in West Midnapore have enabled the forest protection and preservation at the very grass root level with the co-operation of the local people and this approach has also been a boon in case of dealing with the regional problems like elephant depredation and extremist activities. It is produced by the National Afforestation & Eco-development Board, Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India and presented by the Regional Centre of the Board at Kolkata in Jadavpur University.

The celebration was concluded with an interactive session on 'Corporate Social Responsibility - an Actionable Business Agenda for a safe EARTH'.
